Militsa Messinias

It is 51.2 km from the town of Kalamata (capital of Messinia), 21.7 km from Koroni and just 11.8 km from the "Cosmopolitan" Finikounda that has grown into one of the two major tourist resorts of Messinia for years now with stupa in Mani. Militsa, as well as the neighboring village of Longa,  were the stronghold of the rebellious Greeks who tried to stop the advance of Ibrahim during the revolution of 1821. In Militsa Drina, the Dareiotis the Pilafas with their lads fought for several hours and in numerous fights against Ibrahim.
